Dr. George Graham was inducted into the NASPE Hall of Fame in 2007. He has published extensively on physical education teacher effectiveness and physical education for children. Dr. Graham is the senior advisor for PE Central. He is one author of the well known elementary physical education text, Children Moving, and is author of Teaching Children Physical Education Becoming a Master Teacher. This will be Dr. Graham’s second visit with NMAHPERD, so we welcome him back to the Land of Enchantment!
Bonnie Hopper, has received a variety of awards during her teaching years in Anchorage, AK, which includes being named N.A.S.P.E. National Physical Educator of the Year (’92). Bonnie travels nationally and internationally promoting quality physical education and worksite wellness programs. She finds pedometers to be “magical” when it comes to increasing activity levels with “kids,” ages 9-99! She is the owner of Rocky Mountain Pedometer Company. This will be Bonnie’s second appearance at NMAHPERD.
John Thomson is a master teacher. His 20+ years of teaching & coaching have produced a well-respected and effective educator. John Thomson has consulted and conducted workshops in over 40 states with “come-back-to-see-us” results. The ‘91 recipient of National Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year, John is a mentor, a cheerleader...a genuinely enthusiastic and creative model teacher. This will be John’s second appearance at NMAHPERD!
